Saying for the day: One of the most beautiful things we can do is to help one another. Kindness doesn't cost a thing.

We'll be traveling on the Gold Rush Hwy today, a beautiful, scenic road for us to travel. We are following all of the twists and turns of the road right beside the Kumsheen River. This beautiful river with trains running beside it. From up high they look like miniature trains.

We travel through 7 different tunnels through the massive granite mountains.

Some of the funny names we encountered today: Town of Spuzzum, Lake Squeah, Blue Hole Lake, Jack Ass Mtn., and Chilliwack.

We're finally out of all the twists and turns - 2 hrs. - it was bad enough that Marge had to use her car sick bracelet the whole way.

Now we're stopped in traffic - accident! We're inching along and finally after about 45 mins. we're moving well again.

We arrive at the Border and more delay here, in a line and finally up to the Customs Agent and he asks us what's in the back seat on the floor. Uh oh, we forgot the beautiful log we got in the Yukon! "park your rig over there and go inside, they'll take care of you." We park and in we go. We never even remembered about the log - that was long ago. Well, you know the end of this story - bye, bye log. So we lost another hour to our own forgetfulness. But, finally in WA at 12:15 pm.

A bit more driving and pull into River Bend RV park in Mt. Vernon, a quiet park. Lucky to get a site here, we had no reservation and it's "You Know What Holiday" Weekend!

Just a day to relax and get ready for the ferry tomorrow to Port Townsend and to visit with Bob Nelson's Daughter Cheryl and Son In Law Russ. With some day trips and sight seeing.
