After a restless night's sleep, mainly thanks to a loud group of drunken Scottish muppets (did nothing to dispel their steretypes, sorry Carly & Al), we arrived at Surat Thani around 7am. Our final tour day saw us end up where it had all begun around a month ago. We headed to the Grand Palace to have a look around. However, because it was a Friday, it was closed most of the day as the Royal Family were in attendance for prayers. The hectic traveling schedule continued this morning with a 5 hour bus ride to Chiang Mai. A few of the group went for a ride on an elephant that afternoon. The ride took us through some local forestry, where we got to feed our elephant bananas. The trip then went through a river so that the elephants could cool off, of course whilst cooling off, they really didn't care whether or not we were sat on their backs!! One word to sum up the first couple of days......TIRED!!!! After 2 long haul flights & a 2 hour stop over in Mumbai we had finally arrived in Bangkok.
