After amazingly making it to breakfast that morning, we chilled by the pool wondering how we would cope now that we were left to our own devices! Once we felt good enough to get up & start moving we headed to the MRT (metro) & Skytrains stations to make our way to the MBK shopping centre. Now I'm not exactly known for my love of shopping (unless it involves beer or Play.com), but I was still pretty impressed with 7 floors of every possible shop you could think of, topped off with a cinema, pool hall & bowling alley on the top floor. After purchasing a portable speaker & some new headphones we headed back to the hotel, unfortunately we didn't have time to stop at the Bangkok Hard Rock Cafe, which I had to be dragged away from. That evening we had arranged to catch an overnight train with Damon & Seville (the Canadian couple from our Laos tour) to head to Surat Thani, before choosing which island we wanted to visit first.
