Do you like your feet rubbed? GRUMBLE! That wasnt me, that was the dog!
Day 10
Its raining in Seattle. I'm guessing it rains in Seattle more days then it doesnt. Or at least that's how the story goes. it was a wet 157 miles today. Mostly wet, on and off rain. And funny how my rain gear isnt really 100% waterproof. Watching all my gear drying in various parts of the motel room really takes me back to those rainy endless days in Canada last year.
Today was rather boring...and wet....and blah....and wet... Ok, you get it. So I am sitting about 15 mins away from the bike shop where Al is picking up his rental Harley tomorrow at around 11:30. We believe it will be rain all day tomorrow. Good thing Im drying out my gear.
And to think, about 24 hours ago. I was in Vancouver sitting in Bobby's house working on a new song, and meeting Nancy for the first time. Nancy is Suedes wife, and one cool chick. She came by Bobby's house to pick me up so we could go out to dinner. Nancy has this totally cool kind of punkish red hair. It totally rocks! She's very nice and friendly and made me feel totally at home. So after a little chit-chat we went off to eat. I cant remember the name of the place, but was a realy good mexican resteraunt. So after some good food, a few margaritas and some cervesas we had a really awesome night. Great convo all through the night and no weird moments or awkward silences (Remember, Nancy and I never actually met before) It's people like Nancy who remind me that there really are some great people in this world. Meeting Bobby and Suede last year was an awesome event, and now we're friends for life. Meeting Nancy was just the icing on the cake. Now that's three really great people in Washington I'm friends with. I hope they all come out east sometime to visit me in my neck of the woods.
After dinner, we went back to Nancy's place. I got to meet her and Suede's dog. A cute reddish haired lab mix. Their house is also pretty uber cool. We were back at her place for my massage. Nancy just graduated from school to be a massage therapist and let me tell you, She rocks at it! If any of you are ever in the Vancouver area, you have to get a massage from Nancy. It was so relaxing and really made my back feel so much better after being on the bike nonstop for 9 days.
it was getting late so Nancy took me back to Bobby's house, where we both went inside and unfortunately Barbara (Bobby's girl) was asleep. I never did actually meet her, oh well. Nancy and I shot the s*** late into the night and then it was time to call it. It was late, she needed to roll and I needed to get sleep for the rainy day ride ahead of me.
I crashed hard, was exhausted but so relaxed from the massage. I know I had odd dreams, kind of all over the map. I know I dreamt of Lilly, but for the life of me now cannot remember what else.
157 miles today, short ride, but now I am at the point I need to be to meet Al tomorrow. Then him and I ride South, and hopefully run into Bobby and Suede soon.
2,353 total miles so far.
Tomorrow Al joins my travels for 7 days. I know he's excited, and I can't wait.
