The last open tour bus journey, thank goodness! We had one more breakdown on the way but it wasn't too bad. We arrived in Saigon in the evening and as soon as we got off a little old lady shouted cheap room at us so we followed her and the place she showed us wasn't bad at all! We went out almost immediately to get some food, we were staying in the main backpacker area and there were loads of restuarants and bars. We had a nice meal and while we were eating we got offered the new Harry Potter book about 20 times from the ladies who walk around with a massive book tower on their heads!
The next day we went to the Cu Chi tunnels which are about an hour away from Saigon, they were used in the war to hide, we saw a teeny opening in the ground that was hidden by leaves. It was so narrow I don't know how they actually fit into the tunnels! There was a section of the tunnels that had been slightly opened up and you were able to crawl through a bit, Kam went through one of the tunnels and I waited for him outside! He said it was really claustrophobic in there. It all seemed a bit surreal that we were all taking pictures of the tunnels when only a few decades ago they would have been used.
We spent the evening sitting in a little outside bar on the street just people watching! It was fun seeing the book ladies selling Harry Potter to everyone and there was a little kid going round fire breathing!
Again we didn't get to see alot of Saigon, its hard to cram everything in when you have limited time. We have found Vietnam to be a very beautiful country, it certainly seems one of the most touristy countries we have been to aswell!
