"On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world be runnin' our way"
with the Willie Nelson song playing, we set off on a road trip to see some of the Kimberley we had missed on previous trips. A bucket list of Mitchell Falls, Kalumburu, Honeymoon Bay, Bungle Bungles, El Questro and so much more.
Travelling light in our "troopy" with an even smaller oz tent than before, we had some wonderful camps under the stars, strenuous hikes, enjoyed amazing scenery.the old camper didn't miss a beat.
Having lived the last year at Cape Leveque, the Kimberley is truly now in our blood and exploring and experiencing more without the stress of working, a natural progression.
It was a time of reflection too.
What next for us? Around the campfire with a glass of red, we began planning another road trip for September onwards with our Swedish friend Frida. As our current camper seats 2 this planning extended to a decision to look for a new vehicle that would comfortably seat the three of us. So back to Perth after a month of wandering to put in place our next adventure.
Footnote: Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungles) is UNESCO World Heritage Listed.
