Eucla is on the West Australian side of the border and is where the old telegraph station is located. The border is at the aptly named Border Town and is on the South Australian side. The cliffs of the Great Australian bight extend from west of Eucla through to Ceduna in South Australia.

When we visited the bight in 1993 with our children, they insisted on venturing close to the edge of the cliffs. To discourage them Avan old them that if they were not careful "they would join all the other bodies floating below the cliff". Unfortunately one of the kids who will remain nameless used this quote in a school project!! Embarrassingly, this resulted in a call from the school inquiring as to what were we teaching our kids?.  

On our trip through this area in 2004 for some inexplicable reason we did not take many photographs, so have included some taken in 1993 when we travelled through with the kids.
