The Great Ocean Road winds and twists from the south of Melbourne across to South Australia. It is one of the most picturesque areas of Australia and has untamed vegetation and wildlife, combined with breathtaking scenery. While the weather was overcast and quite drizzly we were lucky that it generally cleared enough when needed, so that we were able to enjoy the attractions and snap off some photos.

The Melbourne weather continued as we passed through and being `green' did not know that we were on a toll road that one had to pay for prior to use (i e no toll booth). When we arrived back to WA we were greeted by a nasty toll fine. We wrote a `we did not know letter' but they were not sympathetic. Wilsons Promontory is Australia's most southerly point and the third in our quest. This is also a very picturesque spot but in keeping with the Melbourne hype the weather was not particularly good.

The main reason for stopping off at Mildura was to visit Heathers brother David and spouse Jill, who live just out of Mildura at Redcliffs. We had a great social visit and caught up on tent repairs and other maintenance jobs.Redcliffs is also home to an enormous tractor known as Big Lizzie which was used in early years to cross the Murray River with necessary goods as no other method existed. Later it was used for other projects (such as land clearing).
