Looking for a slightly more challenging hike we find one in the Zion National Park called Angels Landing, claimed to be one of the best trails in Utah. Seeing photos of this hike and also reading reviews I was freaking out prior to this ramble. Paul excited of course, me having too much pride I couldn't let him do this alone, how hard can it be?!!
Luckily, most of the trail was shaded which helped a lot, temperature was in the early 30's so made it manageable. Steep upwards switchbacks were a bit of a killer and then you reach the beginning of the Angels Landing trail. I made sure I paced myself leading up to the real deal, or buying myself a bit of time being that I was still a little nervous. When the trail began to get narrow and very vertical there was a supporting chain which I was relieved about but vertigo was still kicking in for both of us. The views were absolutely stunning the whole way up so had to try and foremost concentrate on our step. There were a couple of moments where I felt slightly wobbled and forgot concentration but we both managed it just fine and really glad we took on the challenge.
A good enjoyable tick the box :)
