We lounged around in the morning, but then, before noon, we headed downtown to the fish market. It's not in the harbour, but pretty close by. We got to choose the crabs we wanted for supper. Four beauties fresh caught.
In the afternoon Zach had gotten us tickets to see the new Star Wars movie. So, out to Langford to the nice AVX theatre. Good movie. Long movie.
On the way home we did a couple errands, including grabbing some liquor from the little store near the house. While Zach and my Dad went into the bird store there, my mum and I ran to Fairway to see if they had a turkey. We had a goose in the freezer, but because my Morfar wasn't going to be at the house for Christmas, we decided there wasn't much point in having goose. Zach and my Dad prefer turkey anyway. We were lucky because they had fresh turkeys that were the perfect size. We even picked up a cranberry loaf of bread.
In the bird store, we picked up more quacked corn for duck feeding. We also looked at bee hives that I really want to get, but I'm not sure would work in cold Edmonton. We also got a hand-held humming bird feeder. Apparently it works, so we got it, just to try it out.
At home, we had some tea and I tried to use the handheld feeder, but even the dominant humming bird just wasn't sure about me. I think you'd need to sit out, very still for a long time. And maybe have a while to acclimatize to you. When we were ready, we cooked all the crabs, and set up our beautiful meal. It's always so nice to have fresh crab. When you're by the sea, right?
After supper, after we were all stuffed, Zach and I decided to go for a walk on the beach. You have to help digestion somehow, right? It was almost full moon, so even though it's stupidly dark on the beach, we didn't really need to use the lights on our phones. But, it was obviously low tide because the water was all the way out and there was lots of beach. We walked up the beach shipwreck to check it out. And then we actually took a nice long walk all the way down to the big tree. We saw a couple other beached boats on the way down. It was spitting rain a bit, so once we made it all the way down, we did turn right back around. It was kind of chilly with the wind, but it was a great walk all around.
