Even though it was Christmas Eve, Zach and I headed downtown for breakfast. We went to Murchie's for a London Fog and a muffin. Zach had a sandwich. I was going to buy a bunch of tea, but I couldn't decide on what I wanted. We wandered around downtown, window shopping. We walked all the way down to the harbour to look at the Empress and the Parliament. It was beautiful in the morning light. Plus there were flowers which makes everything worth it.
We walked around the downtown for a while before finally deciding to head back. We took the scenic route back, stopping at a couple of the lookouts. I wanted to see if we could find some bunnies at one lookout we'd seen them at before. No luck, but a beautiful view. We climbed around the rocks for a bit before continuing on the scenic route. Apparently the nice big beautiful mansion that was the St. Kitts and Nevis consulate is on the market.
Once we were home, we got ready for dinner. It takes a bit to get everything ready for a Danish Christmas. We at least had everything ready and cooked (like the fillet). There was so much to eat for supper. Of course, as usual, we didn't even make it to the cheese course. Probably because we had king crab legs to go with the usual open-faced sandwiches too. Even though we'd had crab for supper yesterday, it was nice to have a different kind of crab. But the best part is always the first open-faced sandwich. With picked herring and egg yolk. Even Zach loves it. And the hit is always the prime rib.
We were so stuffed afterwards, and we couldn't even find the energy to go for a walk. We sung carols and then got down to opening presents. Zach went all out and got me the brand new iPad. Just means that I have to get a new keyboard to go with them. And from my parents (besides the long-term present of a piano) we're going to the Dominican together in February.
