Sorry Peter and Jim, but it was the Moselle we were headed for not the Saar. Ten years ago I brought Donna here on her first ever cycle tour (unladen bike, I carried everything and stopping in hotels not camping). Donna loved it and now we're back travelling much heavier and for much longer.

Apologies for not replying to your comments on our blogs. Days are full - wash, breakfast, packing everything away, cycling, food stops, finding a supermarket for dinner, finding a campsite, pitching, washing, laundry, cooking and so on. We have kindles but don't find much time to read and our notebook diary is always 2 days behind - such a hard life.
