So we decided to book accomodation ahead. Donna was very dubious of my choice of Hostel Am bahnhoff at Suhl - furnished with an industrial theme! So within 1Km of setting off we were going up, and up again, this was followed by another big climb, fortunately the day got easier until we left Meiningen in the afternoon where we had a brick wall climb. We simply had to stop and stop and stop for rests. Then we finally reached our shipping container - actually the wardrobe and coat hangers were made from shipping containers, but every wall was black or grey. Titty slept in our room but not before having her chain changed and front pads replaced - worn out after just 1000 miles (I wondered why Titty rolled backwards when i was trying to hold her on just the front brake on Meiningen hill!! Great pizza for dinner. Another 50 mile day and another 4500 feet of ascent, our legs ached when we finally lay down to sleep. Another day done.

Rob Cross How's the back Donna? I had a bad back a couple of years ago and chiropractor said most back pain is inflation best treated with cold pack no more than 20 mins, a few times a day. Hope this helps? Happy pedalling
