Well it took us longer than planned to cross Germany but we finally did it. We did take a longer route than planned though. We left Germany via the Elbe, not as pretty as the Moselle but still very scenic. Another new language coming our way!

We expected an easy 50 mile ride from Colditz to Dresden with no major climbs however we still clocked up nearly 900 metres of ascent as the road went up and down all day. A few days ago we were heading east to Karlovy Vary In Czech republic, then i spotted Colditz on the map and we took a sharp left to Altenburg then Colditz. We did an extended 2.5 hour guided tour of Colditz - amazing. Very surreal sitting in the prisoners courtyard eating our packed lunch knowing that over 500 POW's were stuck in here with guards, barbed wire, search lights galore. Left Ziegenbruck battling a raging headwind whilst trying to crawl uphill. Fortunately we changed direction and instead we had a strong side wind blowing us all over the road! Monday 11th Sep - We only took one photo during today's ride! It started with a 400 metre killer climb, it was wet and windy. Then on the descents we froze our asses off.
