The snow has come earlier to the Tatras than normal and it has been bitter cold. We were hoping to get the cable car up to Lomnicky Stit (the Tatras equivalent of the Aiguille du Midi), but it has been closed and when it did open there were no views so we couldn't see the point in paying 27 Euros each, we have seen plenty of fog whilst pedalling! So i went and did a peak without Donna which was clear occassionally. A very rocky path covered in snow was very dange...

Titty is having five days rest whilst we don't! Time off the tandem but too many mountains here in the Tatras to explore (with already tired legs). We arrived here with clear blue skies but since then we've had heavy cloud cover, rain, wind, fog, snow and a little bit of sunshine. Previously we had drab rides with somewhere interesting at the end, recently as we have got closer to the Tatra Mountains we have had interesting rides with drab destinations! Well Hello ! Finally prized the netbook off Hubby and allowed to blog. Anyone following Tony on Strava will see that all we seem to be doing is going up - and on Friday we did a 14 mile up - phew ! Then missed a turn off a dual carriageway into Zilina - so we got off and Tony steered Titty backwards (yep towards the oncoming traffic) and the wrong way off the slip road - sometimes at a scarey angle much to the annoyance of the Slovakian lorry drivers.
