Halong Bay Day One...
We had a 4 hour bus journey to our boat in Halong Bay Harbour, it was torrential rain pretty much most of the way. But by the time we got to the boat the sun came out to play :)
We sailed to the Sung Sot Cave, which is one of the new seven wonders of the world, apparently it wasn't discovered until 1993. It was huge and had the biggest stalagmites and stalagtites I've ever seen. Some looked like lions, fish, a bird with a big beak. Then there is one they call 'the breast of mother earth' as it looks like a giant boob, and they believe that if its touched you will have children soon, or if you struggle to get pregnant this will help things. There was a big smooth patch were so many people had touched it!!
I was confused about which is what when it comes to mites and tites, so I was told, 'tights fall down', I liked that one!!
We then sailed to a fishing village, where all the houses are floating sheds! And we got to kayak around the beautiful bay, under caves in to little bays and around the village. It was so beautiful and peaceful and still.
We sailed some more and then got to jump off the top of our 3 story boat into the sea :-D was a great fall and such warm water :) we then had dinner, sat out on the sun deck chatting in the sark and then slept on the boat :)
