Today just got crazier... Somehow I got talked into doing a city tour on the back of a proper motorbike!!
It was good, we went to the countryside and villages, we saw the Japanese bridge that was donated to the people and built in 20 days by continual labour from lots and lots of locals. We then went to a tomb, but it was so hot and I was feeling a lazy tourist, so I used the zoom on my camera instead of actually walking up and seeing the things!! There was some statues opposite each other that looked like a giant chess board... That was the most exiting thing, I couldn't even have told you were the Tomb actually was within the grounds.
We then went to the Pogoda which is pretty, that's the pic of this post.
Next was 'The Catedral' it was massive and loads of walking in crazy heat, there's a high wall surrounding the forbidden purple city, where only the emperor and his family and little helpers were allowed and then all the other workers lived outside the forbidden part but still within the walls. There was also a little museum on the outside about the different things they'd found in there. You couldn't go in any of the buildings and most were being renovated.
After a shower and a rest I met a guy in my dorm who invited me for dinner with some locals, so I went. The food was great, the girls took us to their favourite restaurant where we cooked a hotpot of everything in the middle of the table and OMG the rice was amazing!! The girls were crazy though... There was 5 of us and two scooters, so the two guys went on one and one of the girls sat on the floor in between the legs of the drive under her big poncho and I sat behind her, crazy crazy people!!!
We survived that and then went to a bar and played pool and UNO :-) I decided to walk home :-) and made a vow that I had probably pushed my luck enough when it came to bikes so will leave them alone for the rest of the trip...
