Omg the weather was amazing today!! My Flavela tour was rescheduled from 10 to 2, which was poo as I was going to try and fit a city tour in after, but instead I managed to cancel the Flavela and go on the City Tour instead. Seeing as I had just the one day in Rio I wanted to see as much as possible!! So I had time to spare so I popped to the beach, played with the waves and had a quick toasting on each side :) I completely underestimated Rio... It's massive!!...

Ilha grande was a nice little beach retreat for me :) Unfortunately I didn't get to see anything, except the beautiful view from the beach and treated myself to double helpings of mint choc chip ice cream :) When I arrived I was transferred to another hostel as mine was being refurbished, I lucked out big time!! I'd gone from being booked into a 12 bed dorm to a private double bed with ensuite for no extra charge, plus a nice fresh towel folded on the bed waiti...

The sun has come out to play :-D I was chatting to a girl who worked at the hostel and it was her day off so we decided to jump on a bus to a little town called Trinadade. The journey took 40 mins and it was like being on a roller-coaster!! I swear the driver was loving it!! Schooner Boat Trip Unfortunately the sun wasn't shinning but the day was still enjoyed on the top deck of the boat in shorts and t-shirt :) We spent the day sailing around to different islands and stopping in the bays to have a paddle and a sit on the beach. The views were beautiful and the beaches were like postcards. The water was warm but I didn't have the guts to jump off the boat into the sea without the sun being there!!

Paraty is gorgeous, my hostel is literally on the beach :-) the water is warm and the weather is too, it will be very hot if the sun was to show its face. There's such a relaxed feeling here. We hired Kayaks this morning and went to the closest island, it took us an hour to get there.
