We were all hungover a little this morning, I wasn't too bad considering how drunk I was and not remembering much!
We lost Ross, he had gone outside to get some fresh air and wasn't anywhere to be found when we went to look for him. He had the key as well so we couldn't get in the safe for our things either.
Finally spotted him after about 20 minutes of searching a small resort and he was chilling on a hammock; we all ordered cool breakfasts which were yummy and helped soak up the alcohol!
Not the same over here, we had chicken sausages which were really nice but it's still a little strange and NO hash browns :(
Sat having breakfast... Two Australian girls walk passed and say f*****s and peas and then an Australian man walks passed, smiles and points at us and says Yorkshire puddings! What the hell is going on. I'm absolutely baffled like why the hell have those people just said that randomly to us and Scott and Ross are laughing and going along with it? I've definitely missed something here... They said that they were taking to them on the truck ride home last night whilst i was getting snug and cost with the Asian girl. Haha!
Another hot day today, a dip in the pool and the sea this morning to try n shake the hangover a little. Scott was sting with footballs and kicking then everywhere. Smacked my snorkelling goggles straight off my forehead into the pool, he's lucky that the ball wasn't any lower because I'd have been shoving that ball somewhere where the sun doesn't shine!
Tried playing with the frisbee with Ross and Scott, I wasn't allowed to at because my hand eye coordination is completely off par!
Hired mopeds this afternoon, well scrap metal more like. We went around half the island, the map reader here took them for a little detour up north of the island to Au Chaloklum beach, it was gorgeous! I've never seen water so clear and blue!
Koh Phangan is a lot smaller than Samui, and very mountainess, and a lot less commercialised, a lot less people living westernised lifestyles and a lot more living the native eastern lifestyle. Not poverty as such but everything they use for cooking cleaning and washing is under developed, which I prefer. Chaweng in Samui was catered too much for tourism and the strip has turned into a replica of a European tourism strip such as Malaga or Tenerife but with Asians.
Sussed out the island today really on our drive, found some nice snorkelling beaches and found the chuckle brothers and divas hotel, found a total wipeout course which is a must for us to do!
I kept missing all the turnings on the map today, I blame it on the alcohol, it's affected with my built in navigation system.
Searched Baan Tai tonight to try and find a place to eat and for Scott to watch the football, it was another 'big game' tonight! Bloody football. Wasn't enough space in two bars we found it was either no tablets or people had booked reservations! How bizzare, why would people do that to watch the football. Couldn't find anywhere so ended up back at the hotel, where he had to watch it on his phone because a couple man utd fans that were there could get the channel up on the hotel's communal tv. - shame.
The thai food was real good at the hotel, chicken sweet and sour is nothing like the gooey crap you get from takeaways at home, it's all fresh sauce and veg in it! It's getting a little frustrating now that where ever you are and you order food you never get all starters together and then all mains together at once, they either all come out together starters and mains or 4 out of 7 people's good comes out ten minutes before or after the other three. It's a nightmare, not once have we all eaten together.
And tonight there was only three of us and 4 dishes of food, Scott's food still came out 15 minutes before mine and Ross's.
Me and Ross played jenga and then went out to the pharmacy for him to get some cough medicine, I laughed the whole way! He found it difficult to balance with me on the back because he wasn't used to it, and he's a little nervous on turning. We went around the roundabout, started really close to it ended up nearly going into the front of a restaurant! Haha. He just zoomed into a space because he was too nervous to slow down and wait to cross over the road with me on, and going back into our hotel turning he just accelerated and made a go for it. Incase he couldn't balance properly again! Haha!
Good day, very hot!! Not a total right off considering the amount of alcohol we consumed last night! :)
Spoke to wait or earlier on, he said that they had 60,000 people at the countdown party on New Year's Eve; the most they have ever had!
