Only a six hour sleep but a bloody good one at that! The beds were so comfy - finally!! And the duvets fluffy which was nice cosy because the air con was on too.
We laid in bed all morning watching crap American tv until check out at 12 and the free shuttle to the airport, traffic was fairly bad I think everyone has woken up from the typhoon, not much damage done but lots of road works around the airport. I think that’s the same in every country though, always road works around airports.
Pushing it fine but after the silly queue for bag drop we discovered that we were delayed surprise surprise! That seems to be our life over the last 48 hours! We hadn’t eaten today so grabbed a panini and a beer and waited until 3.20pm to board the plane, bloody log day again! And that’s before we get off the other side to get a bus up to El nido.
Starting to get super aggy now, we should have left at 2.30pm but because of the bag log from the airport being closed we had all been delayed, only good thing I suppose is that the flight is only one hour long and not two and half like it says. We were row 2, the closest we had been to the front ever! No waiting around straight out the other end!
The weather is sunny, hot, sticky and very low wind so much better conditions today thank god!
We landed at 4.45pm the flight was only an hour and being domestic and a tiny airport we waited no time for our bags, we walked off the plane into a building and watched the guys take the bags off the plane from the door haha. Then a minivan (plenty waiting just like the Internet blogs said) and a 600 peso and 5 hour journey to El Nido. They must see us coming, they had us in the front squeezed with the driver, Ellie took the short straw she had the middle seat that was definitely a fold up chair haha, legs either side of the gear stick and a captain America pillow on her lap. Could not stop laughing at this situation! Not long until El nido though... haha!!
We started to get very ansy with one another by the time the guy stopped for the 2nd time for dinner. We just wanted to be there now and it was dark and cold in the van from the air con. Get us to that bloody hostel I just hope the beds are decent!
We arrived at big Paul’s hostel around 10.45pm, there seemed to be a party going on in the front area, free ‘rhum’ and coke here and the big Paul himself couldn’t wait to give us a free shot! These free shots aren’t your s***ty shorts but strong ass stuff that nearly knocked our socks off! He was wrong thinking it got us in the party mood because it definetly didn’t, being moody mares we didn’t even shower we just took two beds and hopped in. Couldn’t remember a word she said about what happens around here just this way to bed. Yaaaah! The beds were comfy, oh I could cry!! And the pillow is soft and the blanket is fluffy, I was so happy!!
