The longest stint of sleep without waking up was around 2 hours long. We woke up just as the bus was going onto the ferry, we had to get off the bus and go upstairs. It was so hot and it was only 6am. The scenery was really nice with the volcanoes in the distance. Although I was about to bark at a few Indonesian giggly teenage girls that seemed to be trying to for fire out how to ask for a photo. It's 6am. Get out of my way. It was another 2 and half hours to Denpasar; the countryside was full of rice fields and they all had huge kites flying above their crops to scare the birds away. The temples and pagodas seem really pretty, different architecture to the other temples we have come across before.

We finally arrived in Denpasar at 11am, we had gone forward an hour in time now. We had been 22 hours on a bus, and now we had to get a taxi/tuk tuk to Kuta where we are staying for a day or two whilst we get settled.
First thing I noticed was that the roads in Bali are really narrow and the traffic is awful! It's practically grid lock everywhere here. It took us over an hour to get to Kuta. It was heavily populated by tourists; full of tour information stalls and western style restaurants. Boutiques and little shops in old Balinese temple designed buildings.
This was definetly a package holiday destination for tourists.
Our hotel was right in the thick of it all but down a bit of a quieter street. We had finally arrived but couldn't check in until 2pm because our room wasn't ready!
So we went and got some food and had a walk around the town. The beach seems nice, not a paradise beach, lots of local tourists and surfers trying to catch some waves. They sell some lovely clothes here, it's going to be hard to stay away from the shops!

We finally got checked in and there weren't any standard rooms available so they upgraded us free of charge because they had over booked the standard rooms. Tidy! We got warm water and a television which even had English speaking channels! We chilled by the pool for the rest of the day and got cleaned! We stank after that long journey.

This evening Scott found a sports bar for him to watch the F1 and went back out afterwards to watch Man utd.

I couldn't wait to get to bed and lie down flat with a comfortable pillow.
