We had another great day in Naples. We started the day with a rick Steve’s walking tour of the city. It was the longest one of his I have ever done. It was almost 2 hours of play time but it was longer as we paused it to get a drink. To do some shopping. We bought figures for a nativity scene.
After the tour was over we saw the oldest pizzeria in the world then decided one of the oldest that had seating and excellent pizza across the street was close enough for us. The dough was excellent and the topping very good as well. I would say best pizza I ever had, but other pizza is still competitive with it. The dough was head and shoulders above the rest. Thin but not crispy but thick enough that it held the sauce and got well cooked on the bottom. A little chewy and soft but not too chewy. Just excellent. We may go back tomorrow.
Then we went to the duomo. It was good not excellent. Then we decided to go up to a scenic viewpoint over the city. It was scenic but not exceptional. Then home for a somewhat early evening.
Reflecting on Naples I think I speak for both of us when I say it is dirty, there is garbage and graffiti everywhere. Everyone is extremely loud and it doesn’t seem very friendly. We are still having a good time but it is a very grim place.
