The Awesome Foursome
We had a chilled out morning today and then at lunchtime we headed into town to commence our boat trip.
After waiting around outside the travel agents for an hour or so, we were eventually herded towards the beach and to our boats.
The boats (as pictured) were small longtail boats which we found difficult to climb in and out of, especially in Jody and Martyn's case (both nearly ending up in the water!!).
We headed North up the East coast of Koh Pha Ngan and our first stop was Sadet waterfall, lovely we thought a nice scenic waterfall which won't involve hiking up a steep hill - wrong! Sure enough the waterfall was at the top of the hill, but we able to cheat and pay for a taxi-truck to take us up there and back - so we did!
The waterfall was nice - not the best we've seen, but if its good enough for the kings of Thailand who have visited it, then its good enough for us mere travellers!!
After a scary ride back down the hill, we stopped for a nice - slightly spicy - lunch on the beach. Then it was back into the boats and we sailed further North to Thong Nai Pan beach.
This beach was truly beautiful and the longest on Koh Pha Ngan, we had a quick dip and were just relaxing with a milkshake when we noticed our boats getting ready to leave - we had to down the milkshakes (which gave us headaches!!) and then practically run to the boat! - oops!
Our last stop on the trip was to a beach which had great snorkelling - however there wasn't enough snorkels to go round so we opted not to - instead we chilled on the beach eating watermelon!
We headed back to Haad Rin and once there we were herded once more this time to a small restaurant where we had a lovely dinner of curry and sweet and sour. It was a good trip although the weather was slighty overcast.
This evening we went to a bar and watched Along Came Polly, (which we all thought was pretty poor!!) feeling thoroughly knackered we all had an early night!
