The Awesome Foursome
We were awoken (after quite an uncomfortable night!) at 7am by the coach driver telling us we'd reached the drop off point - a small cafe in Suratthani where we would have to transfer to yet another bus! Our coach didn't leave until 8am, so it was nice to wake up a bit and have some brekkie before headed off on the next leg of the journey!
We all loaded on to the next coach, but then were told there were too many people on that one so we would need to get off and go on another one! This was fine, however our bags were all on the previous coach - we were assured that all the coaches were going to the same place and we could get our bags when we got there!
We arrived at the boat port at around 10am and sure enough just after we arrived the first coach turned up and unloaded our bags - all except for kirsts! She waited calmly until the driver had got all the bags off, but there was still no sign of hers (she actually looked rather white at this point and we were all feeling a bit sick for her!) Kirst then approached the driver just as he was closing the door and asked him to check agin as she didn't have her bag and sure enough the dipstick had missed it! (not sure how considering its bright blue!).
We then boarded the boat and got settled for the hour and half crossing. While we were sat in the lonuge on the boat a woman approached us and asked us if we'd arranged an accomodation (sounds familiar!) we said we hadn't and she then showed us pictures and told us about her beach huts that were on the west of the island. We really wanted to head to the more lively part of the island, but as her place looked so nice we decided to stay there one night and head down south in the morning.
The boat docked in and a truck was waiting to take us to the beach hut! The ride was fairly short (good job really as all our bags were piled on the roof with no fixings!) and when we got there we were not disappointed as it looked exactly like it did in the photos - totally gorgeous!
We checked in sorted ourselves out, had some lunch and then headed for a look around - firstly on the beautiful beach and then in the little village.
For dinner we ate at a lovely restaurant right on the beach and then sat on our hut veranda with a few lagers playing cards!
Kirst and baz then felt adventureous and decided to head down to the beach for a night dip!
