Day 29 - Kakadu
Wow, talk about thousands of mozzies. After killing many mozzies before we went to bed we were woken up at 2am and were still awake at 5am trying to kill them. It was terrible and we were all exhausted and finally fell back asleep until 8am.
We then had lots of coffee and breakfast then drove back to Cahills Crossing to watch Rog & Josh fish. There weren’t many crocs today but the boys had fun fishing even though they didn’t catch anything.
We then drove to Ubirr to do the 1km circular walk past several aboriginal rock art sites. We also walked up the steep 250m climb to the top of a rocky lookout that has views over the Nadab floodplain and Arnhem Land. It’s such a beautiful spot with amazing views.
We drove back to the caravan for lunch, cold showers and a bit of downtime playing uno.
We went back to Cahill’s Crossing and had to drag Josh away from his fishing so we could drive back to Ubirr to watch the sunset from the lookout.
It was a very pretty sunset and then it was back to the caravan and quickly inside to hopefully keep the mozzies out tonight.
We had dinner then watched a movie.
We thankfully didn’t have too many mozzies to kill as this time we kept the hatches closed and the screen door connected and we slept much better.
