Day 1
Okazaki --> Hiroshima via the Shinkansen 2h30 travel.
Visited:
1. Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park
1) The A-Bomb Dome is the symbol of the "peace city", Hiroshima
The A-Bomb Dome is a symbol of peace. The remains of the building in which the bomb hit, and all people died, stands in rememberance. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996 and has been representing people's prayers for a lasting peace.
Took a tram to Miyamaguchi station, then a ferry to Miyajima Island. Miyajima Island, one of the most scenic spots in Japan, has long been regarded as an Island of Gods on the beautiful Seto Inland Sea. It is a romantic and historical island where Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage site, is located, along with the Virgin Forest of Mt. Misen, and numerous preserved shrines, temples and historical monuments. We climbed Mt Misen, and took the ropeway down as time was running out. The miraculous area around "Misen" is replete with wonders. Seven wonders which have lived on through ancient tales to today,
then viewed the little island city before departing for K's House on main land.
