Day 2
Well it's a rainy day in London town but the sun still gets up before 5am. The sleeping tablet worked a treat and we al sleep til 7. Breakfast is buffet looking out the window onto the Thames while the rain falls down. We definitely have to get a sim today so we head off to the shopping area of Mayfair. We get off the tube at Bond Street - green if I remember rightly from Monopoly. Now here we find lots and lots of shops. Sim card in we head off to Handels house. This is the actual house of the composer that has been restored to original features. There are harpsichords in three of the rooms so Renee is just amazed. Maddy loved it too as they have work sheets to fill in. It's pretty amazing to think The Messiah and other pieces were written in the very rooms we were standing in.
It's now really raining quite heavy and we skip the changing of the guards for today and head off down Regents Street. It's so busy. We dodge umbrellas and other tourists and workers and decide to go to a show.
Leicester Square is packed because of the release of the new Harry potter movie but we squeeze through and manage to get tickets to Shrek the Musical for £25 each. Grab a quick bite to eat and head off to the show. We are in the balcony and have to climb about 10 flights of stairs to get to our seats.
The show was great - girls loved it. Our seats were right under where the dragon dropped from in the wedding scene. Maddy freaked and then laughed.
After the musical was finished we head through the markets at Covent Garden and head home by the tube. Tired but happy.
