Continued from previous...after we got back from the Globe theatre we were able to get into our room and get changed and shower. It was so good just to be able to relax and get changed - we had been in the same clothes for over 24 hours. We refreshed and then went to try and find a phone shop to get the Internet happening. The area we are staying is very interesting. There are no supermarkets or corner stores. Lots of nice restaurants and quirky places. We are near the Borough Markets which sells fresh produce and things like that. No luck on the phone shop so we went to Maccas so we could email home. We then decided to head off to the London Eye. This was a long walk and we were tired but keen. By the time we got to the eye it was mid afternoon and the line was long. We decided it wasn't a good idea yet. Lines die down in the evening. So it was off to The houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. We had a look around but didn't go in. We will try to go to a service tomorrow.
Did I mention it is cold. 14 degrees when we arrived and only about 17 tops but sunny. Wishing we had brought warmer clothes.
We eventually caught the ferry back home and resolved to go to the Eye later. Did just that but are getting more tired so we caught the bus. The London Eye is pretty fantastic. The view is amazing. Got some dinner afterwards but probably should have gone straight home. It was the tiredest I have ever been. Day over. Sleep....
