I really have little to report today. And being still under the weather, with the electricity out (happens some days, actually most days, for hours at a time), I accomplished little. But what I gained, intellectually and spiritually, was invaluable.
After morning pranayama and meditation I stayed at Oasis and took a vinyasa flow class, AND I was the only student there! It was awesome to get one-on-one teaching from Jenna, one of the Californians who has been teaching yoga for years! It was dynamic and invigorating! And I was exhausted after. Damo (who still has not returned to morning meditation) and I had breakfast at the hotel and when he went off to macrame,I stayed and chatted for over two hours with Marcy, Californian #2. She gave me a huge handful of advice about all things yoga and real estate. An odd combination you think, but I am looking to buy in Galveston, so her experience and knowledge was priceless.
After our chat it was about lunchtime so I lazily awaited Damo at the hotel and ate there again (roasted vegetables, my mom's dream meal). Since I felt so lazy after I skipped down the hill and back up just for a quick heart starter (and to get the Californians some dark chocolate at the super market), stopping for a chai on the way.
Afternoon yoga was Yin at Oasis. Damian was going to come, even telling Marcy, who tailored the class for his plaguing plantar fasciitis, he would be there. But when it came time to go, he was too enthralled with macrame, he gave it a miss. No worries, time means little in this hippie town.
A nap before dinner and we went out for curries and naan, which seems to be the new norm. And of course Cookie Walla, which I abstained from this time. Curries are too filling. Also the place is a bit grimy. You have to be quite careful here, people are always getting sick. But neither Damian and I have suffered any gastro bug. We pick cleanish looking places don't eat any meat (electricity going in and out constantly) and we UV sterilize all our water, saving money and the environment. Win!!
Touch wood.
