Another meditation and pranayama start to the day. Damo joined in this time but after said he thought it was his last. He says he doesn't enjoy the breathing part of the two hours but really I think he wants to sleep in. (He saw me write this and wanted me to change it and now says, no, it will not be his last! Men sometimes...)
I got another hot tip from Marcy, one of the Californian yoga instructors here, advising me to try Yoga with Om. Aside from her opinion of this teacher being very knowledgable in yoga philosophy, rather than just asana (the exercises we do when we "do" yoga),his class started at 9am, rather than the usual start time of 8:30, like most classes. That way, I didn't have to run down after meditation, inevitably showing up late every time (actually not a big deal, most classes start ten minutes late or so) and I could relax and have a masala chai tea beforehand.
While I went to asana, Damian went to a macrame class (a type of jewellery making using gemstones and weaving string).
I went to meet him for lunch and he was so proud of the necklace he made (for himself of course). He was like a kindergartener at show-and-tell. So cute.
I had the best veg dosa for lunch on yet another rooftop chill out spot. They are so so good!
Unfortunately I'm still pretty sick. Despite almost a week of antibiotics my throat hurts and my energy level isn't as high as normal. So I resisted for a bit in the afternoon, but made sure I was well enough for the second yoga class of the day, Yin yoga (it's more like a stretching and relaxation class anyway).
After another chat with the locals at our hotel we wandered down for dinner and dessert. Damian has become obsessed with this place called Cookie Walla. He insists on going every single night for a tea and a cookie. I must admit they are pretty good. Warm, soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies. Even though I end up only eating half and Damo eating one and a half, I'm going to have to put a stop to this. We both lost so much weight on the trek and now I want to keep it off while Damian, self-describes himself as currently looking like Christian Bale from The Machinist, is trying desperately eat and eat. I seem to have no trouble putting it all back on with these delicious curry's, naans, and now cookies every night. At least we are getting our heart rate up, having to walk ten-minutes up the hill to our hotel three times a day. I checked and noticed my HR got up to 180bpm ascending the stairs, leaving me panting, sweating, and exhausted at the top!
Tomorrow there is a festival fundraiser for Nepal and we will go see what it's about. Music and dancing I hear. Sounds like fun!
Till then.
