We stayed with the coastal road through Toulon, Marseille where once again parking was the big issue so we kept going back through Arles and out to the coast where we came across this amazing town right on the waterfront. All the way in we saw riding stable after riding stable where literally hundreds of horses were waiting to be hired out. We made our way to one of the listed campervan places and when we arrived there would be at least 100 vans all spread down the beach. For 6.50 euro we parked up and spent the night there.
The next day we continued towards Spain where once again we lucked out on a free campervan place literally fight on the beach. We spent an enjoyable afternoon swimming and rejuvenating our tans. By the time we got back to our van the wind had turned around and all night we endured some of the strongest gusts I can remember. After a rather sleepless night we continued on our way along the beautiful rugged coastline and into Spain.
We stopped off at this beautiful and not too crowded beach to once again enjoy the beautiful warm water only to find the van had been broken into on our return. Once again Spain keeps serving up the disappointments on this trip. With our confidence a bit shattered we decided to spend the night in a campground for security. The first one we tried wanted to charge 28.5 euro even though they were going to close in two days time. So we moved onto the next one where The man in charge gave me a senior citizen rate ( I don't know how to take that but I accepted) plus a discount on our camping card so all this added up to an acceptable figure so we spent a safe and secure night there.
