Sept 16
It's been another gorgeous sunny day spent driving through lots of trees, max temp around 30, dropping to low 20's as it got later.
We took a circuitous route past streams & lakes some of which looked like ideal moose territory but despite signs warning they were about we didn't spot any.
We stopped a number of times to explore forests and small lakes. Lunch was by the side of the road under some trees. We didn't find any parks with tables so the suitcase sufficed as a table :-)
We topped up on fuel at $2.14/ gal, even with the crappy exchange rate that works out to about .75c/ litre, we can but dream :-( It was a good decision to top up in Ma, in NY it was close to $2.50/ gal
A little after three we passed into NY state. Not much changed, still plenty of trees, lakes and streams with some corn fields & wineries thrown in as well.
We had to join the main roads briefly to cross the Hudson River via a big bridge. There's a toll going the other way but not the direction we were going in, winning! Lol
We bought some delish fresh fruit from a farm stall; plums (not black inside as advertised but still good) pears and apples.
Over a bridge and we were back in Pennsylvania.
We saw a few bits and pieces of wildlife today, a young bird of prey, possibly a kestrel, a small lizard underwater at one of the lakes, deer, turkeys, squirrels and a chipmunk.
Here and there we'd catch the fragrance of apples and see piles of them on the roadside where wild trees had dropped their fruit.
Odd sight of the day, a guy watering his garden while driving around his yard in a golf buggy!
Biggest laugh of the day was a business called Slutsky Lumber lmao
The sun went down a fiery orange ball, unfortunately partially obscured by trees for photography purposes but beautiful all the same.
We found a Ramada and checked in for the night.
First thing we did, as usual was check out what's happened through the day on line. We were both stunned to see an article in reef builders written by one of the team at Unique Corals giving the recipe they use for successful coral colours and growth. The pic of the ingredients features our aminos prominently!! In the list of ingredients it's named in full incl the 100% part!! We were torn between being incredulous and totally stoked :-)
