Not a lot has been happening since the last blog.
We left Chamberlain SD and drove to Minneapolis Mn. The whole drive it rained, the sky an unrelenting grey. We passed a lot of crops, mostly soy beans and corn used to manufacture bio-fuels. Most of the small settlements were centred around the railway line and the processing plants.
We arrived in Minneapolis and the only room the hotel had left was a jacuzzi suite for $150 a night, I asked for and and received a discount taking it down to $110 per night so we booked in for two nights.
I had a lot of plans for Minneapolis, lots of suggestions from Kevin but for the most part things like kayaking the lock systems; not fun in the rain which is on-going.
We went to the Mall of America. It's quite something, massive with one floor almost entirely given over to a kids play zone, roller coaster rides etc. it was swarming with parents desperately trying to entertain kids on holidays in the rain
We went to the aquarium which is inside the complex but it too was overflowing with kids, the noise level of chattering excited kids was incredible!
With the rain showing no sign of relenting we did some grocery shopping and went back to the hotel for the day. Pete got caught up on his photo downloads and posted a few very good ones on FB and in a photo forum he uses.
I cranked up the slow cooker and did a very good chicken and corn casserole which we had for dinner with some polenta.
Kevin sent an intro email to Live Aquaria in Rhinlander to try and get us a behind the scenes tour. We heard back they were too busy so we will give the whole town a miss and instead head straight to Duluth.
