We've been non stop, go go go for a couple of weeks now so we took it easy this morning.
About 11.30 we headed off for the train a couple of blocks away. Turned out their blocks are pretty small so it was a very short walk. Along the way we came across a cutie squirrel who seemingly posed for me low down on the trunk of a tree.
We didn't wait long for a train and we were on our way into Chicago city.
We headed first for a tourist info centre but it wasn't up to much. We collected a couple of pamphlets and used their loos and wi fi.
We took a wrong turn and found ourselves in a square with a dozen or so food trucks and two other trucks; one selling shoes the other fashion.
Back on track & we were at Millennium Park. Lots of cool open areas, an open air concert venue and art pieces. One of our favourites was a pair of fountain towers with a face on them which was smiling but now and then he'd spurt water out of his mouth dousing those playing in the shallow water between the two towers which was pretty funny watching those not expecting it lol We walked the Serpentine Bridge over to the lakefront, the bridge was really cool.
The gardens were nice particularly the oak trees which were wearing their Autumn best.
We asked a local who wanted to sign us up to vote where was good to eat and got directions to a pizza place. We bought a slice each trying out the famous Chicago deep pan pizza which was a pretty good late lunch.
We made our way back to a metro station and headed north again to our hotel.
We had some cheese and crackers followed by chicken soup for dinner and settled in to watch some more new season shows, all three NCIS's and a new show limitless which shows some promise.
I thought we were on target for an early night til Pete found the sequel to the 300 had just started so it wasn't so early by the time we watched that.
