Broome, into the outback.... Left Broome, the long, never ending roads began! Terrain changed from flat plains, with roaming cattle, roos and emus, to rocky valleys, miles of burnt land from bush fires. The occasional road house gave a brief relief from driving, good wee stop and a coffee. The fuel pumps are labelled different from road house to road house, at one i had to sniff the pump to ensure its was petrol not diesel...the old boy with his 3 legged dog ...

Hot, sweaty and drives are getting longer.... Karijini NP, gorge walks, rivers and plains. The rivers and waterfalls hidden away in the gorges are spectacular, clear and haven for wildlife, including large lizards, Goana's. The locals don't drive after dusk or before dawn if they can help it, to minise risk of striking cattle and wildlife, were doing the same. Flies are everywhere. Dolphins, Rays, Turtles, & Crystal clear waters Roads are quieter, views amazing, getting hotter. Amazing coast line, clean and packed with marine life. Still no snakes, but plenty of emu's, roos, birds of prey and lizards. The roads are so long & quiet, it seems standard to raise a finger from the steering wheel, or give a wave to passing vehicles, all the ozzies seem to do it, friendly bunch. Pinnacles to Shark Bay Drive from Perth to the Pinnacles, walked / drove through the Pinnacles, plenty of pics taken, saw a blue tongued skink, too slow to catch him (getting old). Going by the first lengthy drive in the van, gonna need a potty! (Wee stops every 2 miles).
