Bula Bula! Short Air Fiji flight, being seranaded by fijians at the airport (hula style) and 20 mins by taxi, and we were on our island home for 10 days. Nice bungalow on the sea front, lovely pool, and friendly staff. Couldn't walk pass any hotel staff without a warm 'Bula!, the Fiji welcome. Mount Cook, including the surrounding mountains and glaciers were a fave. Pristine mountains, rivers and ice glaciers you could hear moving and releasing floods of ice and water throughout the day, sounded like thunder. The camp site at mount Cook was basic, but we still loved it, due it being at the foot of the mountains, and close to Mount Cook village, and an excellent visitor centre, informative displays and more importantly...showers! New Zealand North & South has begun.... Having said farewell to the famalam at Sydney Airport, we made our way to NZ North Island, starting in Auckland, and heading to the Bay of Islands, and Northland. Brisbane - Airlie & Chrimbo The time came for the Camper to go back, (with an extra 8000 miles on the clock) after a two night stay in a Brisbane camp site, clean tidy, resident possums, and screeching birds (0430 start each morning!), and fruit bats in the trees and bushes.
