Airlie, heading South.
North Queenslands was tropical, green, lush and quiet...the bugs are getting less, not so many geckos. As we left Cairns, Airlie was busy, alot more happening, great atmosphere, found a great bar for pool, good prices for grub and beer! Beer pong contests nightly! Winner. Did a xmas recce, think the guys will love it. Sail boat booked for trip out to Whitsundays, buzzin! We cant wait for the girls and guys to join us on the 22nd! Woop Woop!
South of Airlie was Noosa, another lovely town, great shops, rugged coastline, walks, and wildlife. Hot and sunny, lovely beachy stop, we celebrated Ryans 22nd Birthday in Noosa, few beers, pool and ping pong.
The run down from Noosa, took us to the Gold Coast. Although so say corny and commercialised, we found plenty of lush beaches and fishing spots. We clocked a few celebs too....only parked in Maccas, within 100m of Palazo Versace. Hotel. Athough we knew the hotel was here, we couldnt believe it co-incided with our route / timings to catch celebs from 'Im a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!' final.
We hadnt seen Mich buzz so much when we walked into the foyer, and took pics out the front. We hadnt seen me grin so much when we bumped into Dennis Wise after mich left the hair salon the following day, even stopped to chat, have pics taken! Legend Wisey! Mich clocked Toff, Vanessa from the Saturdays too. Fishing was good around the waters of the hotel, fresh fish shop too, we returned a few days later and caught a few! Lovely.
The Gold coast was lovely, Surfers Paradise like a hot, sunny Blackpool (with loads better shopping and grub), even caught a few waves surfin (Ryan did) South of Surfers was Coolangatta, lush place, we hung around for a few days, swimming, chilling, taken it all in! We seem to be 'bumping into' surf shop sales, Ryan guiding us to all of them??
We left Surfers and headed south To Byron Bay, proper 'Hippy Retreat', nice little town, too many peace loving, yoga posing, piss heads for me, but still a lovely coast line. We spotted sharks, rays, and turtles from the light house, just missed the whale migrations, lovely coast line, could have explored for days. Not so sure Ryan would agree, he took the most stings from the jelly fish!!
Next update is from Brisbane, Ryans booked us tickets for the 'Big Bash' in Brisbane. Digs booked, van going back, rest of the Famalam on route...looking forward to xmas!
