The interview went quite well I thought, I was in there for 2 hours and had to do all the computer literacy tests as well but I have just had a call from them saying that my visa doesn't allow me to work full time only 6 months with any one employer, so that's me screwed even more, not that I can even get a sniff of a temporary weeks roles at the moment.
We haven't had any news about Steve's 2nd application attempt so as they say no news is good news.
Future music festival was a washout, the heavens opened and didn't stop all day, I have never seen rain like it, Queensland is tropical and now I definitely know what a tropical storm is, everywhere is flooded, rivers have broken their banks and drains are over flowing. Back to the festival, it was good we enjoyed it as much as we could with mud sucking the flip flops off our feet and my long dress tied under my bum because it was soaking up the water and mud. We let off a bit of steam and had a good dance but would have been so much better had the pissing rain of not turned up!!
Just checked my emails and I didn't get the receptionist job either, not sure what more I can do now!! Wish I could get some honest advice.
Forgot to say Steve and I both applied for a picking and packing job, it said no experience necessary temporary on-going role just be willing to work 10-12 hrs a day and have own transport, this really did seem to be aimed at backpackers.
I called up early this morning to check that they had received the applications they had Steve's not mine, it turns out that as we are on working holiday visas they have to pay for us to have a police check so we can work and as that costs money it was unlikely that we'd be considered. Are they idiots enough to think that immigration doesn't check us for a criminal record before issuing us with a working holiday visa!!!! I remember being infuriated with some of the stupidity in Australia last time and its all come flooding back!!
