Before we got to Brisbane we went to Steve Irwin's zoo, which was brilliant, I Love all things to do with animals and this really didn't let down. Because it's slightly out of season there wasn't a lot of people here which was nice, we saw the huge tortoises being feed, went to the crocoseum for the daily show about all the different animals kept there, it was nice and sunny too which made it a really good day.
My highlight was the Tiger talk which we were lucky to actually see as they only do the demonstrations with any of the animals only if the beasties want to. We weren't let down and it was playtime for the big cats, with their handlers chucking huge toys around which the cats loved and they bounded into the pool. The trainers have reared the tigers from 2 weeks old when they used to care for them 24/7 this has created such a good bond between cat and handler such respect for each other. I think I've found my ultimate job!! How could you ever get bored looking after a creature like that!?!?!
Chuffed to have had such a good day we made our way into Brisbane without knowing that it was the bank holiday weekend and there was a mahhhuussiivee caravan and motorhome exhibition going on for 4 days so all the caravan sites within 20km of Brisbane centre we well booked up. We did find somewhere miraculously.
We haven't really been able to explore Brisbane well not the tourisy bits anyway, we've driven around the centre many, many, many times as Luke and Hayley have needed to look for a car and also somewhere to live.
The vans have been advertised for 10 days and we've found out that to be able to legally sell a vehicle in Queensland you have to get a road worthy certificate, which is a pain as that's more money and according to some a potentially costly experience. Here we go!!
