Soongies' Great Adventure
It was quite a cold and windy day in Bratislava today. We had a wandering around the city sort of day. Being a Sunday, the city was not exactly alive!! After parking the car in the city we walked to the Presidential Palace (where he actually lives) then we walked into the historic old town and had an expensive hot chocolate and cheesecake at a traditional Slovakian establishment. We looked around the main square and took some compulsory photos with the statues (that's the big thing to do in Bratislava apparently). We then walked to the Bratislava castle and got a nice view of the city from there. Back in the old town centre we saw Michael's Gate - the only original medieval gate to remain. It was then time for lunch! We went to a traditional Slovakian pub - Bratislava Flag Ship. Kate had garlic soup served in a bread bowl - the flavour was sooooo strong so Kate was not the biggest fan of her choice! Calvin had creamed chicken with veggies which he enjoyed. Although it was still quite early in the day, we decided to head back to our accommodation as it was pretty cold and we had seen the main sights. At home we did some Iceland and USA planning then cooked strapacky with vegetables for dinner then had a nice relaxing evening watching a movie.
