We went to Harlem today to go to the Ephesus SDA Church for their divine service. It was pouring with rain and we got quite wet sharing our little umbrella on the walk to the subway and around Harlem.  The church was a large and beautiful old building and the people were welcoming. There is usually a youth church service but today's service was a combined one for Ladies' Day as it is Mother's Day tomorrow. The service was really nice - the hymns, special items and gospel music were amazing to listen to and there was a great sermon by Arlene Callwood. After the service we went next door to a diner called Harlem Shake where we had some delicious southern style burgers and very rich salted caramel thick shake. It was still bucketing down so we decided to just head back to our apartment in Brooklyn - it took us a while on the trains because some of the lines were closed for maintenance so we tok a convoluted route to get home. We packed up our bags and cleaned up the apartment as we were leaving tomorrow. We had canned chicken and noodle soup with corn and broccoli for dinner.
