Naomi, Eden and I worked again Thursday morning with our 2 English Ladies (and the odd gentleman) prepping for the Farmer's Market, where I will be working EARLY this Saturday morning with Claire! It was a great time again and we were quite productive preparing 100 bags of scone mix.
From there we went to the Jesus Centre and served supper at the soup kitchen in downtown Chico (a rather different kitchen environment!) Naomi made friends with a wonderful old piano player, and they shared their love of music together on the piano in the dining hall. Eden added class and "marketing" skills to the cookies and Jell-O she was giving out. And I mingled with some lovely people; an artist, a photographer, an eclectic traveller... everyone was so thankful for their food, and enjoyed being loved on - which we loved being loved for. It was pretty much a win-win situation.
