We are in Butte City, California, parked at Tim's brother's place. It's a great spot and right behind us is the very place where we used to live. It's more than just strange being here again for a longer term than just a visit. The "boys" are going to work for Uncle Jim during walnut harvest which will be about 5 or 6 weeks. The "girls" will be keeping busy with everything but work!
We had a lovely "sibling" dinner at Kathy's place last week with Donna, Merrilie, Jim and Sandy, and Kathy and Wilbert. And then a Giesbrecht party the next day with Kathy and Wilbert's kids - they're getting quite a collection. Friday we went to Jim and Sandy's cabin on Lake Almanor for a weekend of rest before harvest.
The coolest thing ever! While we were having dinner with all Tim's Californian siblings, they began to talk about these amazing women who sell real English scones and curd. They raved about how good it is and how lovely the ladies are who run it... inside I was cheering like mad. Those two lovely ladies are my newly discovered cousins whom I have yet to meet. They live here in Chico and we met on Facebook, thanx to Susan Reyes who noticed that two of her friends had the same maiden name! How cool is that? Not only am I excited to meet these new Holdstock's, but my in-laws already love them!
Can't wait to wake up tomorrow...
