BANGKOK
Bangkok was a pleasant suprise, we expected it to be like Hanoi but of course seedier, it was a huge city, nice and modern, sky scrappers, nice bars and restaurants, but as well it did have the image of being seedy and full of lady boys. We were surpised how many there actually were!!. And they were not as good looking as people make out, you can still tell there men!!.
We spent most of the time, in taxis, tuk tuks and on the sky train trying to get around the city, to do some cheap shopping and of course nights out on the famous Khao San Road, which is known for its long street of bars and clubs where back packers and holiday makers head, for cheap buckets of alcohol. As soon as we met lacie and Joe there on our second night, (our friends from Vietnam, who are also from Wales)..i got so into the atmosphere of the place, i ORDERED A BUCKET!! had a few slips and realised what i was doing, and stopped!! haha...Marcus then drank the whole thing to him self.
Once we had all consumed large amouts of alcohol, me and Joe some how ended up buying fried scorpions of a local, at first we just threw them in everyones drinks, how ever, so out of character I ATE THE TAIL OF ONE OF THEM...Then again so out of character i drank beer, the boys ordered a 6 pint stack so me and lacie thought why not.
As the night ended we thought it woud be fun to get a ride in a tuk tuk all four of us, with only enough seats for two and no seatbelts, which it was!...how ever once you are sober you realise how dangerous they actually are haha.
On our final night in Bangkok, we aimed to go to the Sky bar from the film the Hangover....but to our disapointment, after taking us 2 hours to get there, after our taxi driver could barly speak English and didnt no where we were going, we couldnt go in!! there was a dress code, the boys didnt have shirts or shoes with them so we got into a taxi and headed to the nearest bar....After been offered to go to a ping pong show, all day every day, we thought why not were only in Bangkok once, gota atleast see the seedy side properly to experience the real culture haha.....As soon as we started walking up the stairs i wanted to turn around but the others kept going, and we soon ended up with front row seats!...within 2 minutes of sitting down, me and lacie couldnt even look over at the girls and kept laughing, then a ping pong nearly hit us, we screamed and we left haha....i reckon the ping pong girl did it on purpose cause we were laughing so much! ha
