Ok so we passed the date time line, we went back in time and relived the 20th of May, very confusing and does not help with the jet lag. Customs were long, we were in America, finger prints and 21 questions, I felt like I was doing something wrong. It was a nice heat in LA but not to hot, we checked into our hotel in West Hollywood it was so classic 1950 America with a diner downstairs, the cheek of the manager who was Asian may I add…put us in a basic room, I immediately went down and said that's not the room I paid for…he assured me it was, so I got the email up and said where the flat screen TV then?...he laughed and said "Ohhh, here's you're new room key"…I felt like I was back in Asia being ripped off again!.
I headed down to the pool, in and out of a light sleep, I had not slept for around 30 hours, Marcus stayed in the room and slept, but I wanted to make something of the day plus my tan had more than faded. Later we headed over and did our washing, it was so cheap around 2 dollars, then down to the diner for an all American unhealthy dinner, which was amazing. The next day we woke up and had waffles, and got a taxi over to Universal Studios, It was so cheesy just like I thought it would be, but I loved it, they reenacted bits from films which was the most amazing show, they showed us how Movies were made and we took a tour around all the sets, as well as going on some rides. We stopped in Hollywood on the way back, did the walk of fame, took some pictures.
The following day we went down to Santa Monica, LA is known for its bad traffic it took us 2 hours to get 10 miles, we sunbathed and met up with an old friend from uni John, we chatted then headed over to the pier for some pizza and coke, of course being America HUGE potions and free refills I was starting to get more than sick of fast food. John offered to drive us back, saved us getting the local bus which was a bit dodgy, the locals seemed nice but it felt very down town America. We knew he would have a nice car, a BMW it was quick!! We went into Beverly hills and looked at some rich and famous peoples houses, I could really see myself living there…if I won the lottery.
It was sadly our last day in LA, we really did not have enough time here, we headed into Beverly Hills town, took a picture with the welcome sign!!...saw a celebrity but we don't know who he was…..his dog was dressed up, and was saying he loved all his fans across the world, should of got a picture really. We went back after having a nice drink around all the beautiful cars and shops, headed into downtown LA and waited for our bus to San Francisco…I loved LA, it has the weather, its cool, but I did still think it had an un safe feel about it, lots of tramps that looked like they were on crack, but you cant blame them must be a tough life.
