Zvi Josef's Travels
We woke up to a beautiful sunny day in Warsaw, and we were glad as we had quite a lot planned for today.
We first took a metro and bus to get to Lazienki Palace, which is more of a lovely park.
We then returned to the hotel for some afternoon treats and went to the observation deck in the monolithic Palace of culture and science.
We then went to see the Umschlagplatz monument, from where 300,000 Jews were sent incattle cranes to their deaths during WWII.
From there we continued to the monument of the heroes of the gettho, and stumbled upon a group of Israeli high schoolers visiting Poland, so we took part in their moving ceremony. The ceremony ended with singing "Hatikvah", the Israeli national anthem, which literally filled my heart with pride.
We returned to the hotel for a huge dinner at the club, and finished the day with some shopping at the mall.
