Zvi Josef's Travels
We started off the morning with a long walk along the Danube and reached Margaret's island, which is a beautiful island in the middle of the Danube.
On the way, we passed by the Parliament building and noticed a memorial for the Jews who were slaughtered on the Danube bank - in a form of dozens of pairs of metal shoes, atached to the ground near the Danube bank. Chilling and sad.
We walked the island for about an hour an a half, enjoying its forests, lack of cars, beautiful flowers and serence atmosphere.
At some point, I wanted to sit down on a bench and relax, and I thought to myself, "gee, they sure keep those benches clean here" - only to realize I sat on wet paint. :) So, I spent the rest of the day walking with a HUGE white stain on my ass. Ha-ha! :)
We returned to the hotel and visited 2 churches on the way.
In the afternoon, we visited the Holocaust memorial center, which was absolutely intenese.
After that, we had an afternoon snack at the famous Gerbaude restaurant, and well, as expected - it is overrated. :)
In the evening, we took the 22:15 night cruise of the Danube, which was stunning and gave us a chance to say goodbye to beautiful Budapest. :)
