On Monday, we moved to our new accommodation Talitha Guesthouse, a short walk from the town. It boasted hot water, a shower and two rooms; tea and coffee was available on demand and breakfast was also included (Rp 150,000 per night, £11). It looked like a row of cottages on a hill above their vegetable garden, very rural and pretty. They had chickens and a couple of dogs lazing about. After our trip into town in the afternoon, we returned to our rural idyll and sat at the front of our apartment, which had a small lawned area and flowers and overlooked the vegetable garden. The day was cooling down now and perfect to sit out in. The chickens were clucking around and the haunting sound of a call to prayer from a distant mosque was carried through the air - it was so restful. We were enjoying our afternoon tea, when the dogs started playing on the lawn, they then decided to 'become better acquainted with each other', shall we say. We were trying not to look or to let it spoil the evening, but then they started doing a push-me-pull-you act which went on for a while. It reminded me of something my sis Val said when she was little "Mummy, why has that dog got two heads?" Anyway, after an agonising 20 minutes of this they were out of our sight and we could enjoy the evening again. Another mosque closer to us started its call to prayer, we wondered whether this would wake us in the morning as it was a bit louder that the first one. This one had a better singer though. Just then, and I don't know how we hadn't spotted it, mosque number three fired up - right next door! It was a kind of ramshackled building so it wasn't obvious that it was a mosque - see photo. Well mosque number three was pretty loud. I erupted into a fit of the giggles "They never mentioned this in the brochure" Paul said dryly. Not only was it loud but it was playing at a fast speed not quite pinky and perky, but maybe a dance version, at least it would be over more quickly. We would definitely hear this at five thirty in the morning....

martine So, what new in the morning about mosque ? however did the place good adress or not ?
Renze @Martine. The place is a good adress to stay, the (third) mosque he was talking about only plays on monday (he forgot to mention that). So in the morning he couldn't be waked up from that one! And back then, there were five dogs en these days there only two left (and very quit). I loved it here!
