We left Munduk with a sense of disappointment - our hosts at both hotels were exemplary.. at Aditya, as we sat in the taxi, they presented us with a handmade cloth runner, beautifully crafted in cotton in gold, reds and browns. A touching moment and symbolises the simple and genuine nature of the folk of Munduk.. something that still exists in Asia and Indonesia.. but which is dying out. After an uneventful 2hr 15m journey through towns and villages with the usual blue sky backdop - we noticed the air getting hotter. We arrived at Sanur, SE Bali at the snappily named Stana Puri Gopa Hotel - we had a lovely deluxe suite.. see pics.. very nice just 5m from the quiet pool(with free wifi)! We settled in and explored the coastal walkway positioned along the sandy beach of Bali... well until we found somewhere to eat lunch (mahi-mahi and veg. curry!) anyhow! Blue skies, turquoise seas, sea breeze, colourful boats and the smells of warungs (plus the heat) were very pleasant indeed. I snapped away some photos of boats, fishermen and Hindu offerings... enjoy. Sanur (and our hotel) were quiet but very pleasant near to the beach and there are mainly small restaurants - no rowdy bars - even though mopst here are Aussies. We sorted out laundry and sundries and had a relaxing time after which Sheryl had a long, cool pool swim in the early evening warmth. It was a relaxing evening and after dinner an early night. Next day (after Sheryl's early morning beach jog) we walked to the ancient pillar (1000yrs old) which was a damp squib.. down a quiet alley no historic information and the pillar was mainly covered in cloth in a glass sealed 'shed'! So it was off for another Mahi-mahi lunch (catching up with our missed fish here!!) and then back to relax and then more swimming (for Sheryl). I was blogging and choosing pics. We had more walks and then early nights for us. Up early nice breakfast then taxi to the airport. We are staying over 1 night KL and then early flight to Kuching, Borneo and hopefully some trekking, boating and cultural surprises! Speak soon....
