This morning we had a very short trip from Queenstown to Wanaka. It was raining.
On the way we visited the original Bungee Jump Centre and watched people throw themselves off a bridge. It really was quite scary to watch let alone to do. Further on to Arrowtown which was another gold mining town but this was built by Chinese miners. It was a fascinating place and a very pretty village but was eye opening how people used to live in the 1800's. We did actually battle with many Chinese/oriental type people, who are very pushy people and in my view beat the Germans for being impatient. But I guess as it was their history more than mine I shouldn't complain, but they are quite rude.
Continuing our journey we passed lots of vineyards and resisted going for a tasting. Stopped off for a picnic at the side of a lake and were joined by a duck and her ten ducklings. They scavenged as many bits of crumbs as they could then pecked me!
Arrived in Wanaka and it was still drizzling. The Motel was very good and we had a 2 bedroom condo.
Apologies for the sideways picture again.
